SHAHIN ERA POLL...

"Would you be interested in marching once or twice a year (like 4th of July, Memorial Day) in the Bishop Kearney Alumni Band?"

CLICK HERE TO EMAIL YOUR OPINION TO RAY ERB

Hi folks:
I'm writing to the people that have shown an interest in marching.
One day I was talking to Tom Erb, maybe a month before the reunion, he said something like "I think it would
be neat if we could put together a BK Alumni Marching Band"
We talked about it for a few minutes and then dropped it.
Well, I had so much fun at the band practice, and at that point - even before the reunion in the evening -
I decided I was gonna push for this.
So I put up a poll on the website. I figured we'd get maybe
5 - 10 responses, after all, people won't be visiting the website
AFTER the reunion. Well I've heard from more than 20 people so far and I can tell you, this is a go.
Most of the major issues have already been resolved. The biggest issue, Tom purchased a number of drums (snares, tenor, bass) that we can use (most of us drummers don't have marching drums) in addition to a tuba.
So, I just wanted to keep everyone up to date. I'll be sending out another email sometime around mid September. Also, I'll be posting updates on the website.
Best regards,
Ray Erb

Here's just a few of the responses we've gotten so far.....
Jay Vee '70 - "Hell YES"
Fred Scheible '74 - "I’d do it in a heartbeat."
Kathi Bonsignore Higgins '82 - "If this includes twirlers....
I'll do it! Otherwise...I'll help in another way!
I'm still floating on air from the reunion!"
Rosemary Erb '72 - "Yes! I can play the clarinet,
although I have never Marched in my life."
Ann Garczynski Altoonian '77 - "Yes! As long as the drum line is there.
Cannot wait to play with you guys again!"
Kathe Kilmer '70 - "How foolish can I be willing to look!!
I guess there is no limit. Sure!"
Jay Vee '70 - "This would only work with at least one good lead trumpet..."
<Read On Jay Vee>
Chris Lerch '79 - "I would be interested. I played trumpet from 75-79, was a
soloist on "Hang 'Em High" and "Somewhere". I can still hit *most* of the notes"
Debbie (Small) Whitehair '82 - "YES!! I think it would be SO much fun.
Please keep us posted."
Lauren Doyle (Saurini) '75 - "Marching in a reunion parade would be interesting.
Are there more details or is this just an idea for now?"

<It’s an idea that’s taking shape, Lauren. We'll let you know when we have more info.>
